Swan Lake Giant Shaker Card

Swan Lake Giant Shaker Card. Technically this is not part of my fairy theme, but ballet is pretty close. I made this card as another of my Mingle swaps. The six steps in the challenge were:

  1. Washi Tape
  2. Musical Notes
  3. Red
  4. Hearts
  5. Circles
  6. Tissue or Tea Bag

The first thing I did was to make a background using Washi Tape. I found a beautiful swan Washi Tape so I decided to try and use it in the theme. I found some really nice contrasting tape with hearts and another with spots (close enough to circles). I even managed to find some piano key Washi Tape.

Once this was done I cut it to size and used a die to cut a rectangular center. I then needed a suitable image and the swans reminded me of Swan Lake, so I found a beautiful black  and white ballerina lable on The Graphics Fairy. This site is a fantastic source of free images and projects. The ballerina was holding a garland of flowers and had text in it. I really needed some music notes so I did a search on Deviant Art and found a fantastic set of Musical Note Photoshop Brushes by Coby17.  I replaced the garland with the curved music notes and replaced the text with the slogan Swan Lake. I filled the card with red beads and made a small red tissue flower to add to the embellishments after surrounding the card with gold coloured bling on a roll.
