Stamperia Winters Tale Altered Tin. This little tin was really good fun to make. The pictures do not do it justice as they do not show the sparkle.
Once upon a time there was a princess who lived in a world full of snow and ice
and in that world of snow and ice, there was another world of myths and magic
and a little tiny house and a little tiny princess on a little tiny horse
and in that little tiny house was another little world full of beauty, hope and joy,
with little tiny secrets which pop up within the little tiny nooks and crannies
and all of that within a little tiny tin
I could not resist making up a little story to go with this tin.
I started the process by making the pop-up book. I used an MDF house which I decorated with the Winter’s Tale paper. I put a couple of tiny pop-ups in the accordion folds before adhering it to the cover. I put some sentiments inside and outside and separated the roof from the walls with some trim which looks like diamante, but isn’t, and gets it’s effect by the cut of the metal.
I painted an MDF tree with Tim Holtz distress paint and drew some Christmas lights with a paint pen and glitter pen.
I then fussy cut a princess on a stallion from the Winter’s Tale paper. Before placing them in the tin I decorated the inside of the lid and base and made some snow using texture paste and glitter, which actually looks much brighter and whiter in reality than the pictures show.
Once everything was dry I used foam tape to mount the tree and princess onto the base of the tin. I then mounted the book into the lid and made a wire attachment out of a head pin, so that I could attach a silver plated chain closure. To finish I put a small castle charm on the end of the chain.
I have listed this item on Etsy so if you’re interested please follow the Etsy link. My next project will be an altered cube shrine so please keep visiting.
